What is your ideal Valentine's Day celebration?

Well, I tell you what, it's a lot different now than it used to be.  Would I enjoy a nice romantic dinner, and flowers and chocolates?  Of course.  But, it's not really a must-have these days.  I'll be perfectly happy to just spend a nice, quiet evening together, eating whatever dinner I decided to make, and then maybe sitting quietly next to each other in bed while we read.  Pretty exciting, huh?  Yes, I know that's pretty much what happens every night around here, but I like it.

Will I make something "special" for dinner?  Probably.  I'm thinking something that stars shrimp, since it's one of Magnum's favorites.  Normally, we'd be eating left-over birthday cake for dessert, as I know I've mentioned before that Magnum's birthday is the day before Valentine's Day.  But, since none of us are eating cake these days, we'll probably just enjoy a bowl of strawberries, as usual.  Sounds good to me!

Feel free to tell me what your answer to this prompt would be.  Hell, I wish you guys would do that for each prompt this month.  I love hearing what you have to say. =)

I'm going to make chicken noodle soup and cut the carrots into hearts. How exciting is that!

Well, we plan to have an regular day around the house with a walk in the afternoon with the dog, go to Starbucks for a coffee/green tea, then home. Being together is something we both cherish.
Now Lisa, I am so impressed with you and your family's resolve to stay healthy! I love what you guys are eating....never really thought of feta and pears but it does make sense.
I agree with 'Clippy Mat'....spread the love all year round!!

I have to say this Valentine's could be awesome! The Captain has a medical conference in Sanibel island soooo, after my big TRIAL that day (yes my first big Florida trial on Valentine's day!) I am driving over to spend the rest of the week/weekend with him! AND his company is paying for the awesome hotel on the beach! I'm pretty excited - and how cool would it be if I actually win this trial!? Yeah, this could be an awesome valentine's day! But you know what? We do try to make every day a Valentine's day around here!

I just noticed the Captain above too...my Captain and I will work out and have dinner at home...with my girls and mother-in-law who is visiting...it is also my "birthday" at school- I conveniently changed it so I didn't waste a day of school...and my real birthday is on Teacher Appreciation Day...so I chose V-day.

Happy Monday!

I'm not a big Valentine's Day celebrater... probably has something to do with being single for the last 7 years or so :-) This year, it's a school night and both Lawn Boy and I have our kids and mine have basketball and gymnastics, so we probably won't even eat anything special... no time!

Ideal for me? Flowers and chocolate covered strawberries. Fab dinner. Several martinis. No request for nookie later. ;-)

My ideal dinner? Anything I DON'T have to cook. And that is just perfect....no dessert needed.
