Day 23

I just realized that I posted so late last night, it showed up with today's date. Oh, well. I guess I could go in and edit the post time...

We were at Stud's best friend's house last night, although the best friend wasn't there. He was at a concert with his girlfriend. We were there because it was his mom's birthday, and his grandpa's birthday. Grandpa turned 85! I felt bad for my girlfriend because neither one of her children were there. Like I said, Best Friend was at a concert, and her younger son is in France. Rough, right? He's there as part of an exchange program. Theirs was a true exchange program. Hugo came and visited here for two weeks a few months ago and stayed with our friends, and now Little Brother is there at Hugo's house for 2 weeks. So far, he's having a blast. He actually started a blog to chronicle his adventure.

I brought my margarita maker with me to the party, which may have been a mistake. At least that's what my tummy has been telling me all morning. It didn't help that I had to be up bright and early this morning because one of my sisters-in-law came over so Stud and I could help her with a project for school. She and her husband just left a few minutes ago, and I must say, I'm feeling much better now. The pastries they brought over seemed to have hit the spot!

Before they came over, I started preparing some dips and other yummies for the Tastefully Simple party I'm having tomorrow. I'm SO excited!! Believe it or not, I've never been to or hosted a Tastefully Simple party. I know some of you just fell off your chairs, but it's true. Oh, wait! I haven't told you the best part yet. My consultant is none other than the awesome Jen, from Laughing at Chaos! If you don't read her blog (why the hell not?! She's a hoot!) she recently moved back to the Chicago area. She also recently decided to start up her Tastefully Simple business again, after a few years away. I'm so excited to be her first party, and even MORE excited to finally be meeting her in person!!

It just occurred to me that some of you may want to help her jump start her new business. I think if you send me your email, I can add you to the online guest list, which will let you peruse the catalog and/or place an order online. Yay! Most people who have heard of TS, and have been to other shows, have all told me they LOVE it. As a matter of fact, last night at the birthday party, I got two orders from my friend's family members, who both said "Oh my God! I LOVE this stuff!!" I can't wait to sample the different products tomorrow.

I guess on that note, I'd better get back to preparing for tomorrow's show. We have invitations to two graduation parties today (Stud's "wife" and one of his besties) and I was invited to a baby shower. All three of these parties are scheduled to start at 3:00! WTF?! I'm not sure how the hell we're gonna pull this off, but what I do know is, I only have about an hour to finish making this food. Wish me luck!

Triple Poop?

No pictures with Santa today. That's all I'm gonna say, cuz I don't want to whine and rant tonight.

Funny little story from last night - Stud has heard this story before, but we were talking about it again last night. I attended my very first concert ever with CSJ, about 2 months after we started dating. I'm still shocked my parents let me go, quite frankly. I was 17, and we went to see ZZ Top with another couple, who were good friends of CSJ's. We were celebrating CSJ's 21st birthday. The concert was interesting. I heard/saw/smelled things I had never before experienced. Let's just leave it at that. But, that's not the meat of the story.

That night, I wore my favorite pair of black jeans, and 6 inch stiletto heels. Oh, yeah, I was smokin' hot, let me tell ya. Well, as we were participating in the mass exodus from the Rosemont Horizon, I slipped on some beer that was spilled at the top of a flight of stairs. My left foot/leg slid straight out and down, while my right foot/leg somehow went behind me (picture the splits) and I fell (slid?) down a complete flight of stairs. As if that wasn't humiliating enough, CSJ and his friends couldn't stop laughing at me. Of course, as they were peeing their pants laughing, they were making sure I was ok, but still, I was so embarrassed. Over the years, he's teased me about it many times, saying different things all the time, ranging from I was drunk, to I had a contact buzz, to I couldn't walk in those shoes, etc. For the record, THERE WAS BEER ON THE FLOOR!

Ok, so ever since Stud heard that story, he and his father have had more than a few laughs about it. TSO was playing at the same venue yesterday, but it's is now called the Allstate Arena. So, naturally, as we were driving to the concert, the story came up again. CSJ kept talking about what I was wearing just to tease me. "You should have seen your mother. She was poured into these black jeans, and she was wearing these crazy-high black heels. She couldn't walk in them, which is why she fell down the stairs." blah, blah, blah. He thought he was SO funny.

I said something like, "Wow, that was 26 years ago. Where did the time go?" We both started commiserating about how old we are now, and he suddenly looks at me, gives me the once-over, and says, "Yeah, Stud, your mom went from black jeans and spiky heels to stretch pants and orthopedic shoes!" All I could do was laugh my ass off, cuz it was totally true!!!! God, I'm so pathetic.

Well, I guess the only thing that matters is he doesn't care, and he STILL thinks I'm pretty cute. As my niece would say - "That's a big D-U-H, DUH!!"

Wait, WHAT time is it?!

Holy mother of pearl, it's 11:55!! I literally just walked in the door after a very fun-filled evening out with Stud and one of his besties. We went to dinner and then to see Stud's "wife" in her school play. We then all went out for frozen custard at a new place that just opened this week in my 'hood. I'm trying to remember if I've ever written about Stud's wife before. Quite frankly, I'm too exhausted to think that hard, so I'll just come back and do it later. Oh, and I didn't forget that I owe you Part 2 of Bitchfest. This is literally the first time I've gotten on a computer today. I'll try and do better tomorrow. :(
