I had Stud picks these out at the grocery store, under the guise that they were for Sunday’s party. He made me laugh because he picked 4 different kinds (they came in boxes of 6) for 4 different reasons. “The Sponge Bob are for Scotty (his best friend), I want Wolverine, the birthday balloons for my birthday, and the little crayons for you cuz your a teacher.” I picked out a 5th box that had “Happy Birthday” picks.
A much smaller version of the Halloween spread. Aren’t you proud of me? The left-over candy from last week’s party is STILL in the Lazy Susan!!!
The early arrivers.
Then, Stud showed up! He promptly informed me that he knew all about it, because he saw the post on Facebook. Hmmm, good thing he was grounded, huh? CSJ and I decided to extend his grounding, but not until Monday. We figured we’d give him a whole ‘birthday weekend’ before the punishment kicks in!
You may notice Stud’s short hair. He got a detention Monday at school because his hair was too long!! So, Tuesday night, I shaved it off. Yeah, he’s not so happy about it, but his hair grows fast, and in another week, I’ll take him my girl and she can shape it a little for him. Truthfully, I like his hair this way. I think he looks older, yet at the same time, it reminds me of when he was little, and I always used to cut his hair like this. Long hair, short hair, no hair, he’s still pretty damn handsome!
His best friend’s mom, AKA his other mother!
Stud with my sister and mom.
LOVE this one!
My niece, Stud’s friend, Emma (you may remember her from last year’s Homecoming), and Stud. My niece and Emma became fast friends last year (they both attend the sister school to Stud’s school) and now they’re ‘besties.’
The kids actually managed to watch two movies during the party.
I love that they thought they should all take their shoes off. Cute!
The whole gang. (Don’t even get me started about the fact that I invited nearly 30 kids, and yet this was the party group! Eh, Stud was happy, and that’s all that matters!)
This is one of Stud’s oldest friends, Lauren.
As a matter of fact, they were married back in the 2nd grade. Oh, how I wish I had photos of that to post! Apparently, the wedding was held during recess, the girls made Lauren a veil out of toilet paper, and a bouquet of paper roses. Their friend, Brenda, officiated. Their puppy love started in 1st grade, and I have a drawer full of love notes from Lauren, which she used to leave in his desk. Well, 1st grade love notes, which means things like pictures of rainbows and things. Oh, so cute!! Of course, he used to do the same thing. As a matter of fact, he got in big trouble one day because his teacher caught him sneaking back into the classroom after dismissal to put a note in her desk. Ah, young love… Despite the fact that Lauren transferred to a new school at the end of 2nd grade, they’ve remained close. Oh, did I mention that Lauren’s mom and I went to college together? How funny is that? On the first day of school, I saw her mom in the office, and naturally I just assumed she worked at the school, since I KNEW she was a teacher, right? Nope, she was bringing her baby to school, just like me. And, the rest is history! Stud still refers to Lauren as his wife. As a matter of fact, he has her in his cell phone as simply “Wife.” AND, he never changed it after or during the whole relationship with The Girl. I was surprised, but glad at the same time. Actually Lauren and The Girl met one night when both of their moms came to a Pampered Chef party at my house, and hit it off like gang busters. Wow, that seems like a lifetime ago.
My niece and her bestie!
My son and his wife ;-) Oh, and their son!
Happy, Happy Birthday, My Baby!! I love you more than you'll ever know!
