...at 2:00, on the dot, I grabbed both of their drinks and tossed them. Yeah, I guess that might have been a bitchy, but seriously, WTF?! I started cleaning at about 11:30, thinking, like I said, I'd be able to leave at midnight. I did everything I could think of to try and give these two a hint, other than come right out and say, "GET OUT!" At 1:30, I asked the guy if he could please close out his tab so I could balance my drawer, and his response was to say, "Sure" then he ordered one more beer! I almost threw it at him!

What an ass. I always feel uncomfortable when I'm one of very few patrons somewhere and it's about to close. Next time maybe you really should just throw the beer at him. They can find somewhere else to drink at 1 am on a Monday night. :)
I can't blame you....the guy is rude. :)
oh you poor girl. you have the patience of a SAINT! those people are just rude and uncaring and next time don't even let them IN!!!
I hope you get caught up on your sleep. You make me feel so lazy, and yet, so tired! :-))
Seriously!
Back in the waitress field... I had the same experience the other night with a few guests...
They started out sitting across from each other about 9PM... They had food, and drinks... and got closer to each other... eventually practically making out in the booth... so at 1AM (closing time) I shut the lights off...
No notice... no movement...
Finally at 1:15AM my boss asked if they were leaving...
They said they would and had "no idea what time it was"...
BULLSHIT....
You've been here since 9 PM... you practically had sex in the booth... and the lights went off... get a Fu%&ing clue and GET OUT!!!
(And they did... and I drove home and was asleep by 230AM... gotta love my boss :-))
Hugs,
Dana
P.S. If we come up again... PLEASE kick us out when you're tired... and DON'T let me have 9 martini's plus shots!
some folk just won't take the hint.
Steph, they actually DID leave and go to ANOTHER bar! There's a bar down the street from us that has a 4 o'clock license. As they were walking out, the chick goes, "Dendrino's?" and he's like, "Yep!"
Clippy, I did catch up on my sleep last night, thanks. I actually had to fight the urge to lie down as soon as I got home from work, because I knew I'd fall asleep, sleep a good 8 hours, then be up in the middle of the night!! Sadly, I didn't make it past 7, which is when I finally let myself sit on the couch. I woke up around 11:30 with a stiff neck, but once I got in bed, I was able to fall asleep again, thank God! I woke up this morning around a quarter to 5, full of piss and vinegar (as my mother would say!) I'm going to be sorry later, though, cuz I'll be working at the bar tonight. I just hope I'm not there til 2 again!!!
Dana, first of all, there's no IF, it's WHEN you come back! And, you guys are welcome to stay as long as you like! We can even nap on the couches, then start all over again! I was hanging out and visiting with you guys, which is totally different :) Plus, I didn't have to get up in a couple of hours and go to work! But, maybe I will hold back a bit on the martinis next time, only so you won't suffer so much the next day! ;-) Love ya!!
how are you surviving on three hours of sleep!??!?!?!?! i would be one cranky bi-yatch. not that i'm not a cranky bi-yatch to begin with. please go to bed now.
You are way nicer than I would have been! :)
*Bon Don*
3 jobs!?!! When does your jet setting brother get back? That is insane. Do you have blood pressure meds on hand just in case? I'm praying for ya. Hang in.
Don't you wish teacher "tricks" worked on people like that? Clap, Clap, ClapClapClap, eyes on me, 1, 2, 3!
Good job! Now that you're looking at me, stand up, push your chair in, and line up at the door! Oh, look at how nicely you're walking! Thank you for following directions!
Goodnight!
Ha!
"Service with a Smile"!
Ugh I feel for you. My chatty-assed client kept the entire restuarant open an extra 1/2 hour b/c he was too self-absorbed to realize we were ALL TIRED!!!!!!! I'm sorry you have these silly people who keep you awake!
