A couple of funnies from today. I was testing the kids on some Dolch Sight Words. One of the babies was really trying hard to sound out some of the words, despite the fact that these are "sight" words. When she came to the word ask she perfectly sounded out /a/ /s/ /k/. Then I said, "say it all together." She said, "aaa...sss...kkk." "Ok, now say it fast!" She cracked me up. In her head, she obviously figured out the word was ask, so naturally she gave me "Aks!"
Another of the babies was also trying to sound out some of the words. His word was with. He gave me /w/ /i/ /th/, and when I told him to put it all together, he gave me www...iii...ttthhh." Then the light bulb went off, and he smiled and proudly said, "Oh, wiff!" tee hee!
I have more stories, but I'm late for my niece's confirmation!

I love your little quotes at the end of your blogs! Especially that one... god how true that is :-) I'll have to try the Michelob Ultra Light sometime, I never even thought about that one! Izeah is doing much better too, thank you :-)
"Aks" and "wiff"! I love it. My niece Ari was counting to ten before she even turned one, and when she'd get to nine and ten, she'd yell out "nyyyyynaaaa aaannna tennnnnaaaaa". Could never figure out why. Ha!
Where's the quote about Michelo Ultra Light? I love that beer. Couldn't find it on your blog...unless I'm missing something? Ha!
Ok, never mind! I just read some of Dana’s blog and visited Ryan’s memorial page. I’m completely a mess right now with tears and mascara running down my face. I have a client coming in twenty minutes and had to stop reading. What a beautiful blog and what a wonderful family Dana has. I’ll have to finish later. :-(
KBL, maybe your niece has some Italian in her, cuz that's how my family would say it! ;-)
You have the same problem I do with the run-away emotions, and the crying at the drop of a hat. Neither one of us should be reading blogs at work for that very reason! Good thing I read them during rest time, when the room is dark, and the babies can't see the tears streaming down my face. :(
How's Achilles doing? I hope he's on the mend. I feel so bad for him, and for you! I know how emotionally draining this must be for you, not to mention physically draining. Hang in there! I'm sending prayers and happy, puppy thoughts your way! Love you!
