So, the other night, while CSJ and I were at dinner (being completely irritated by our incompetent waiter!), I heard my phone ringing. I grabbed my purse from the seat next to me, and started searching through the pocket I keep my phone in, but I couldn't find it. I was getting annoyed, as I searched and searched. Then, suddenly I remembered that I had left it on the kitchen table. Shit! I HATE when I do that!!
Anyhoo, as I was saying to CSJ, "Shoot, I left it on the table. But, I SWEAR I heard it ring!" his phone started ringing. The caller ID said it was me calling. He answered it, and it was Stud. Apparently, he had tried calling ME, but then heard my phone ringing in the kitchen, so he picked it up and called his father. He didn't even realize we had left to go to dinner, and he was wondering where we were.
Ok, cue the Twilight Zone theme music. How funny/weird/strange/freaky/spooky is it that I somehow knew my baby was trying to reach me? Ok, I know some of you just rolled your eyes, and said, "Oh my God, ChiTown, get over yourself!" But, I choose to believe it's a testament to the magical bond between a mother and child.
By the way, that's not the first time something like this has happened. You are free to think I'm off my rocker. But, I know what I know. I've had this weird 'psychic' ability for most of my life. I almost always know who it is the minute the phone rings. Actually, I can usually somehow tell when the phone is about to ring. Generally, I pull my cell phone out about 5 seconds before it rings, or I get a text. Weird, I know.
There are some other things, but I'm going to stop there before one of you calls the men with the little white coats... ;-)

Ok girl, you gave me the goosebumps. I believe that some people do have that kind of ability. My Mom is one of those with some odd kind of gift, she knows when I "need" her and gives me a ring. Cue creepy music:)
It's true...I have a very young kid in class this year...on the first day of school he got lost at recess and went with another class. When I realized I was missing a student when I did a head count a line up, I had the whole school looking for him. We found him with another class...and when I told his mom at pick up she said at around 10:30 she had a funny feeling about him. The same time he was MIA!
And quite ofter I pick up my phone and as I do I get a text from New Zealand.
Not strange at all!
Happy A-Z Monday :)
i beleive you, cheech... i am that way too. if i told you some stories that have happened to me, your skin would crawl. i think its all about the spiritual connection as moms, that we have with our kids.. its a bond that exceeds all understanding. but i have also had it happen with a few people very very close to me.
Nope, I always known that you're a little touched. But as long as you're several miles from me, we're cool! ha!
Your Friend, m.
It's mother's intution and no mother would call you crazy.
I have deja vu all the time... where I find myself in a moment...always a completely mundane moment and feel like I've been there before when I know I haven't... turns out, I've usually dreamed the situation months or weeks before it happens. Needless to say, I don't like having bad dreams!
I know exactly what you mean. I can "feel" when my cell is about to buzz. It freaks out my husband.
Lucy
That actually happens to me a lot. I will think about calling my husband and the phone rings. The other day my sister called and I missed her call but I knew she was calling to tell me she was pregnant. And then my other sister had had a dream the night before that D was expecting and then the next day she took a pregnancy test!
My kids never call me. They just text everything.
Well, if that is the case, then you know what I'm thinking right now!!!! ;)
