I woke up about about 2:30 with that uncomfortable "sweaty" feeling. Crap, not again!
I had heard the air click off last night around 9ish, so I looked at the thermostat real quick and saw that the temp in the house matched the temp it was set at, so I figured that's why it clicked off. In the back of my mind, I was praying that's what it was, anyway. But, I was up for a while after that, and at one point, I had to get under my covers because it was nice and chilly in my room.
Well, like I said, then I woke up around 2:30 feeling hot. Sure enough, the air wasn't on. I went down to the basement and saw that the circuit breaker was tripped again. I flipped it, and it almost immediately tripped again. Ok, take a deep breath.... Flip it again, wait a second and *click*- off again. Ok, try not to scream a slew of swear words (mostly cuz Stud was Skyping with a friend about 2 feet away from me. The fact that he was up in the middle of the night Skyping brought on the urge for it's own slew of swear words, but I digress)
I waited a few more minutes, trying to hang on to my "third time's a charm" philosophy. I flipped the breaker switch one more time. Wait, wait, wait....nothing! Woo hoo! It's been about an hour and a half, and the cold air is still pumping. Maybe I should change the thermostat setting from "auto" to "on" for the fan? Will that keep it from switching off when the set temperature is reached? I have no idea.
I do know that it's now about 4:15 (AM!!) and I'm wide awake. That's NOT good. I need to figure out how to get back to sleep, or I'm going to be worthless tomorrow.

I hope that you at least got few more hours of sleep!
Hey woman!!! Few things....
1. We were in Chicago about 3 weeks ago but had no time for anything besides the festival we went too :( Besides the fact that it was in Southside (so we took a shuttle... not walking down there!) and we were outside for 3 days straight at a music fest... phew... i got a ten with spf50 on!! :)
But yes, I still love you and Yep, still (obviously) check up on you through your blog!
2. The AC... ok, the day we came home from Chicago, our AC stopped working... it was on but the fan wasnt running. So I called a technician friend who advised it was the fan motor and then called a company to come fix it... so they came over and he went down and FLIPPED MY SWITCH in the breaker box! I felt soooo dumb... well he cleaned it up anyway and it started working, for about 5 days... then did it again. Turns out... the fan motor WAS going bad. When it runs and runs, it gets hot and can cause it to have a high "amp output" which flips your breaker inside... but thats not good if it's about 10 years old, as ours is... see, if the fan does NOT run and the AC unit keeps running, it can cause the compressor to go bad cause it gets to hot and that's thousands of dollars to replace... so I called their asses back and they FINALLY put in a new fan motor (um, NO CHARGE for the service this time since they didn't FIX IT the first time) and now it's working like a dream... :) Keep your eyes on it ok????
Love you!
We bought a new A/C this weekend. I don't borrow money as a rule, but that rule was serioulsy broken when it came to air conditioning.
May Dave Ramsey have mercy on my sweatly little soul.
I wish I could send you this crap we call weather here...we had a few days over the 4th of July but I wasn't here...
Ugh! I hate being awake and worrying in the wee hours of the morning. Sorry about that.
I'm just back from a week at the beach and am just catching up with everyone.
Did you at least get soem coffee?
m.
Oh no! I hope you were able to get some more sleep, and that things with the AC get sorted out soon. Being hot is the absolute worst!
Nothing more miserable than a/c probs....
