Oh gee, Day 3...

I'm going to try and keep this short, as to avoid another day of complaining.
  • I walked in to find all my stuff STILL IN THE HALLWAY!!
  • I was finally able to get into my room at NOON!
  • I walked in my door at nearly 7pm, completely exhausted and achy.
  • I have to go BACK tomorrow and work (for free, mind you!!) because the babies are coming Monday, whether I'm ready or not.
  • My friend was told this morning that she was going to be doing a 1st/2nd split. But, then, by the end of the day, she was told 2nd. WTF? Also, her kindergarten list is now up to 12, which means I'll have 32 little darlings in front of me on Monday. Oh, joy.
Hmmm, shall I move on to the positive? Ok, just give me a minute here...I'm thinking, I'm thinking....
Oh, well, it did rain this afternoon, which put a damper on our rally. tee hee. A damper! Yeah, I'm so exhausted, I'm slap-happy. Forgive me.

I'm off to soak in my tub, something I haven't done in a looonnnggg time. My achy feet and legs could use some water jet therapy.

Oh, holy crap! I almost forgot something. And, hey, I think this counts as a positive. ;-) The woman who was our 'business manager' and handled all our money was FIRED TODAY! Oh, holy moly! I'm even more convinced that we're going to find out that the Big Cheese's firing had more to do with misappropriation of funds and less to do with our special ed audit. She handled all the money, so she was in up to her neck in whatever he was doing. Things that make you go hmmm.....

WOW...I can totally relate to your stress level. I agree that your partner will end up back in K. We both teach in very simialar type schools, and we will have DROVES of students being registered on the first day (even for the remainder of the first week). What is your cap size for your class? My cap is 29, but they can keep sticking kids in there, as long as they "compensate" you...which is like $4 a kid on your paycheck or something crazy like that.

I am hopeful for you with a grea principal. I have worked under the antichrist for 4.5 years and now I have a fabulous principal. The world is so different. Interestingly enough....our bookkeeper got fired as well when the antichrist left. We knew she was up the her elbows covering up the principal's spending.

I can relate about getting your room ready. I have MONDAY to work in my room. I will be staying Tuesday evening to work (we have meetings all day Tuesday). The janitors don't understand how much it takes to get a room ready. At my old school it was nice because the janitor actually did the people's rooms first who came back first....so they were ready to go.

Wishing I could send you Taft's bathtub to soak in....

Yeah, I had a principal who took ALL of our paid, time before the kids showed up. He KNEW we (at least the suckers) would come in on our own time and get what needed to be done- done. That was back when I was more of a "new" teacher. Maybe he just knew, like some of the veteran teachers, that some of it didn't NEED to be done and would get done when it got done and things would still go on.......

Fired? I'm shocked! ;) I have to say, I'm really curious to see those financial statements. What they didn't shred anyway...
