How typical...

I was grinning from ear to ear when I got up this morning, as it was about 53 outside. I just saw this blurb in the Sun-Times, which amused me.

I know I haven't been around much lately, which is why I didn't already share this crazy weather with you. Last week, the temps dropped to such a comfortable level. I was in heaven for a few days. Tuesday night, we had 60s, Wednesday it was in the 70s during the day, 60s again at night. Then Thursday, we had a freakin' heat wave! The heat index hit 105!! I had to pick up my "new" son (post on that coming soon) from school because he was overcome by heat. No, I'm NOT kidding. As a matter of fact, when I picked him up, the nurse told me that the principal already decided to close school early the next day because it was supposed to be even hotter on Friday. So, that means the boys had an early start on their long holiday weekend. But, it was a good call, since the heat index was almost 110 that day, and the school is not completely air-conditioned.

And now, here I sit, in front of my open kitchen windows, enjoying the 53 degree wind blowing in. Can you see my smile from there? I thought you could.

Ok, I love love love hot weather but 105 in a not completely air-conditioned school is ridiculous. I bet there were other kids who had trouble too.

Can't wait to hear about your "new" son. :)

The weather has been up and down here too. Like...one night we are so hot that when our sweaty legs touch, we skitter away from each other and the next night we are debating turning on the electric blanket....

Poor Stud - I don't do well in the extreme heat, either (that means over 80 - 85, here). I hope your weather stays agreeable for you! This has been a crazy weather year just about all over the country.
