I missed most of last week because Stud Muffin was sick. When I returned today, the babies were VERY happy to see me. I got my lovin' at the door, as each one was properly squeezed before going into the room. Little Miss A.L. saw me from the end of the hall and RAN, full-speed ahead, to jump on me, put me in a death grip and say, "I very, VERY, very, VERY, very, VERY mis-ted you!!!!!" What an awesome way to start a Monday, huh?
S.H. happened to be sitting next to me at lunchtime, and was happily munching on his apple. Suddenly he says to me, "Mrs. L., my apple tricked me!" I said, "Huh?" and he explained, "It made me bite my tongue!" Too cute!
Finally, let me show you what I came home to this afternoon.
My lilacs have bloomed!! Yay!I can't even tell you how awesome my backyard smells. I'll tell you next time about why I couldn't haul out and set up my hammock like I wanted to, so I could lie under my lilac bush, and drink in the heavenly fragrance! I want to enjoy every minute of it, because sadly, they don't last all that long. :(
This is currently my favorite air freshener!

Sweet, sweet welcome back from your babies. That is lovely, just like those amazing LILACS - holy cow! You are blessed to have those right in your yard. Enjoy each moment.
Nothing like a day or two away to see how much the kids appreciate the teacher! (I was "sick" yesterday :)

Glad you are finally getting some spring! Now I don't have to feel guilty every time I put on my flip flops! :) Sooo jealous of the lilacs.
seeing your lilacs reminds me of when C and I were little, we had a huge lilac "tree" in the back of our house and when it bloomed, it smelled like sweet perfume. it is my favorite. also lily of valley, or in french "muguet". and yours are huge too. the only bad thing, ours attracted lots of bee's. i bet that is why you can't lay out, huh? bless you. well, you did the next best thing, cut and bring them in. thanks for taking me down memory lane. Jo
Those lilacs are so beautiful, I can smell them from here!
When we have honeysuckle in the backyard it smells so good, I want to lick it. That's just so wrong.
What a great post! It's too hot for lilacs out here. :-(
Hey, whatever you do this weekend, I hope you have an great Mother's Day! Have fun!
We don't have lilacs here. I just realized that I miss them very much. My mother LOVED them and we had a couple of big bushes in our yard, and ohhhh the smelllll.
Not worth the cold weather though. Well, almost not worth it.
