Do you need to look before you leap?
Usually, yes. There have been times when I've just closed my eyes and jumped, no doubt. But, mostly, I need to know exactly what's going on, exactly what the consequences of my actions may be, exactly what path I'm headed down. I've just always been that way, but I think it intensified even more once I became a mom. Now, I had to be responsible for another human being. Oy! I couldn't just be reckless and irresponsible, you know.
Many of you have been asking about what's going on with my job. I gave you a little sneak peek yesterday with my "unemployment" answer. Trust me, I looked, stared, studied, gaped, you-name-it-I-did-it, before leaping into this one. I know I've said it a hundred times already, but there really IS a post coming that explains everything.
Merry Christmas!

You will tell us everything when you're good and ready! I'm excited for you and honestly feel like you have something good coming to you though all this. However, along the lines of taking leaps, I know it has to be so hard to make that kind of change in your life.
And I know what you mean about motherhood changing your ability to leap. I was never much for leaping without looking, but after kids, it wasn't just looking but researching, praying, considering, over-thinking, considering some more, sleeping on it, etc. It's so hard to know the right choices to make sometimes!
Being reckless and irresponsible just isn't in our genes. Or our jeans. :)

I always have to look at the worst and the best case scenario before i do anything. Then I second guess myself over and over and in the end I just get frustrated and guess the right thing to do.
You will find another job but until then, make yourself a list of the things you want to get accomplished around the house (affordable things) and start working on them so unemployment doesn't get you down.
