Thrilling Thursday
*Ok, when the hell did THIS become a thing?!?! I hate that my shows won't be back until January now. >:(

I think I need to be unplugged...
Monday, January 17, 2011
Write about something you feel should not have been invented.
Oh my, I don't even know where to start with this one. The cheeky little devil in me is screaming "The internet!!" as I lose way too many hours each day to the evils of the interwebs!
But, then again, without the internet, there would be no blogging, which means no Bloggy Buddies, and I can't imagine my life without you guys!
And, if we're gonna talk about things that are time suckers in my life, I guess I'd have to get rid of television, too. And THAT ain't gonna happen!
That reminds me...I need to get over to ABC.com and watch all the shows I missed last night because I watched the Golden Globes instead. I need my Desperate Housewives fix! Ta ta for now!

Day 9
What one thing are you often tempted to lie about? When do you think it's okay to lie?
I'm often tempted to lie about...jeez, let's see....so many things....
I know! The amount of television I actually watch. It's really kinda pathetic. I have a line up for every single night of the week. It's so very sad. I wish I had a life. Even on the nights that I miss my shows, I always watch them the next day online.
When do I think it's okay to lie? Hmmm....when it's harmless, I guess. "No, I don't mind doing that for you." "Yes, that IS the correct weight on my driver's license." "No, those pants don't make your butt look big." "Yes, I would LOVE to try your new recipe." You get the idea.
I didn't particularly like today's prompt. I hope tomorrow's is better. I wish you could see the prompts ahead of time. I could get a couple of posts finished ahead of time, plus give the answers a little more thought.
In the meantime, let me share the impromptu little dish I whipped together for dinner last night. Last week, I bought a big honkin' pack of chicken breasts at Sam's Club. But, because I had such a busy, busy weekend, I never did anything with it. So, when I came home from work on Monday, I decided I'd better either cook it or freeze it. I decided to cook it. I seasoned it and threw it all in my crockpot, and let it cook low and slow overnight. In the morning, I took it out of the crockpot, and put it in the fridge.
Last night, I was trying to think of what I could do with all this chicken, and decided to make a ring. Pampered Chef has a few of these "ring" recipes. Over the years, I've adapted several of the 'original' recipes to come up with some new ones. Yesterday, I shredded up a few breasts, put it in the dough, then sprinkled sharp cheddar over it. I really wanted to mix in some Sweet Baby Ray's (cuz I could drink that shit with a straw!) but I thought Stud didn't like it. I found out after I took it out of the oven that he DOES like it, so decided to put a little over the top. We both laughed because it made our dinner look like a dessert!

Random Thoughts....
...my daddy was not born here, and English is not his native language. Although he's now been in this country for nearly 50 years (since he was 18), every once in a while, he let's a doozy fly. Today, while we were watching Check, Please, they were reviewing an Ethiopian restaurant. He was a bit turned off by the idea of communal dining, and said to us, "That just not my tea bag." Obviously, he meant to say, "...not my cup of tea." However, he said it with this strange glint in his eye that makes me almost think he said it wrong on purpose. He's kinda silly like that. Either way, it made me laugh.
...Stud's beautiful self-portrait has been ruined. I'm really sad about the whole thing. He was working on it during drama club yesterday (who the HELL knows why!) and one of his friends came over to talk to him. Somehow, while talking, this kid accidentally spit on the picture (yeah, I know, ewww) and somehow this caused a hole in Stud's nose. I think he tried to wipe it or something, who knows. All I know is, in an attempt to cover up the fact that there is now a hole in his nose, Stud drew a freakin' band-aid over it, so it looks like he's got a band-aid on his nose. WTF?! I may just have to take picture of it later to share. He thinks it's hilarious, but I'm not too happy about it. Thank God I took the picture of it for you guys the other day, so I can see what it originally looked like.
...I took Stud and my two nieces to Bakers Square for lunch today. It was delish, thanks for asking! When I was paying, there was a problem with the credit card machine, so it took a few minutes. Seriously, I don't think it took more than 5-7 minutes total. At one point, the manager called the helpline, and he told them that he's had a customer waiting for over 10 minutes. Huh? At that point, I seriously think it had barely been 5. As they were fixing the problem, he asks me what my favorite pie was, and I realized he was about to give me a free pie. I told him that was completely unnecessary, and he says, "Nonsense, you've been stuck here for 15 minutes!" Seriously, it was about 30 seconds after he told the helpline I had been waiting for 10 minutes. Like I said, in under 7 minutes, I was out the door, with a delicious Caramel Pecan Silk Supreme pie, to boot! Thank you Bakers Square! As much as I'd love to just sit down with that pie and a fork...
...I'll be taking it over to Stud's friend's house tomorrow. Stud will, once again, be joining his friend and his friend's dad (and a handful of other friends) at a Bull's game. I figure the boys will definitely get more enjoyment out of the pie than I will. Don't get me wrong, I would enjoy every single, sinful bite, however, I would be beating myself up big time afterward if I ate it! I'd rather pay it forward, anyway.
...I can not wait to watch Saturday Night Live tonight. Jane Lynch is hosting!!! I've always enjoyed her work, but I especially adore her on glee! Despite my excitement, I so afraid I'll be asleep long before the opening skit. Damn. Maybe I can nap...it's only 7pm...I have time...
...Stud finally remembered to bring some art projects home for me to scan. I've been asking him for weeks to bring them home. Every week, the boys have to turn in a drawing based on a theme of their choice. At the end of the project, all the drawings will be put together in a kind of collage. Anyway, Stud chose The Seven Deadly Sins as his theme. The boys also had to choose a symbol in the beginning of the semester, and then work that symbol into all their drawings. He chose an apple. It will all make more sense once I get the pictures scanned and posted here. So far, he's been doing an incredible job. I'll try and post them tonight.
...I guess I'm going to skip my nap and scan some pictures. :)

CRAP!!
What the hell am I going to watch tonight!?

WHY do all the shows I love have to start the same week? Now, I know I can watch all of these online tomorrow, so it's not like I'm really going to miss anything. However, it's still bugging me that DWTS is going to be on at the same time as the glee premier. Crapsicles!I think I'm going to watch glee "live" and then watch DWTS tomorrow. I know I can find out who gets eliminated by watching the news, but I like to watch the musical guests. I'm pretty sure Santana is performing tonight, and I LOVE me some Santana!!!
Thankfully, I'll be able to watch this at it's usual time.
I've been meaning to post about this show for the past week or so. I just discovered it last week, when NBC aired a full night of Parenthood. I never watched it during the regular season, but now I'm totally hooked!! I went online and watched all the episode available, but I was bummed because it was only the last 6. I just may have to rent Season 1 at some point to see what I missed. I did see the season premier last week, and I'm glad I'll be able to watch it this season. Anybody out there a fan?I realized when I went to the NBC website to lift that photo that I'm also going to miss the season premier of The Biggest Loser. Poop. I think I just may have to let that one go this season. Especially since my usual MO is to sit and EAT while I watch it anyway!! Oy!
OK, guess I'd better go pop some popcorn for my very FULL night of mindless television. WOO HOO! glee starts tonight!!! Guess I'll miss Margaret Cho getting booted. ;-)
***update***
(Yeah, cuz I really DO think you give a rat's ass about this!)
The universe it working with me here tonight. Turns out that the first hour of DWTS was a repeat of yesterday's show. So, while I was thoroughly enjoying glee just now (woo hoo!) I didn't miss a thing! And, as soon as I clicked over to ABC, they introduced Santana, who I ADORE!!! So far, so good. Once I watch Margaret get dumped, I can switch to NBC to watch Parenthood. All is good in ChiTown.... ;-)
***update 2***
WHAT THE HELL?!?!?! Margaret was just saved from elimination as I was clicking 'publish' for the first update. Seriously?! I guess it's The Situation that's getting the boot then, huh? Although, it's between him and The Hoff, so that's a pretty close call. The Hoff will get the 'old folks' vote, but The Situation may have an advantage since the youngsters may be inclined to vote for him. I have no idea. Oops, gotta go, Adam Carolla is on!!!

I just discovered...
I've been trying to find things to distract me from my anger, which has in NO way dissipated since yesterday. If anything, it's grown. But, I'm really not ready to write about it just yet, as I'm afraid I'll literally blow up Blogger with the number of f-bombs that I would surely be dropping.
So, in the meantime, I'll be watching the entire season of The Marriage Ref between tonight and tomorrow. Join me, won't you?

Has anyone watched this?
***Update***
I've only watched the first segment, and I'm laughing and crying at the same time. The first family is an Italian family from Boston. OK, commercial's over, gotta go!
