The drama club at Stud's old high school is doing The Outsiders this weekend. Actually, tonight is opening night. Their totally awesome director had some friends of his put this together.
They also did a mockumentary, which is too cute. If you know the kids, like we obviously do, it's much funnier. But, it's worth a watch either way. Rocco, they awesome director, is a film student at DePaul right now, and some of his friends, who are also film students, did this. I believe it was a project for them that they actually turned in for DePaul.
My long-time readers probably know that Scotty and Ryan are two of Stud's best friends, and they all graduated together from the same grade school. Scotty and Stud have been best friends since kdg. (Ryan transferred into the school in 3rd grade). Ryan is actually pursuing drama seriously for college. He spent a few weekends visiting various colleges doing drama auditions, in hopes of earning a scholarship. Helen, one of the other "stars" of this video, also attended the same grade school, although she's a year younger. I think I just may send a link to this to their former principal, as I think she'd get a kick out of seeing this group of former students doing something so creative.
Good luck tonight, Drama Club! Break a leg!

Oh, come ON!!!
I ran to the grocery store at about 6:30 tonight to grab a couple of things for dinner. THIS is what I saw when I started my car!!
WTF!? We are now on Week 3 of temps that are, quite frankly, abnormal. It's been in the 80s for over a week now. Ninety-freakin'-one?! At 6:30!?
We have cousins who live in California. One of them emailed my brother today to tell him that it was snowing in the mountains, and that they had freakin' FROST in San Diego! And, he sent a screen shot from his local news that specifically listed the town we live in, with a temp of 86 listed. He wants to know what the hell is going on. I wish I knew. I think I've had enough now. Two weeks ago, it was nice. Last week, I was loving it. But over the weekend, as the temps climbed into the upper 80s, and now 90s today, I'm so over it. I'm ready for the 50s to come back. You know, like it's SUPPOSED to be in March in Chicago!!!

Email of the Day
PLEASE READ!
INVOLVES THE SHAMPOO WHEN IT RUNS DOWN YOUR BODY WHEN YOU SHOWER WITH IT!!!!
WARNING TO US ALL!!!
YOU NEED TO READ THIS. DON'T DELETE IT BEFORE READING!
I HAVE JUST RECEIVED THIS WARNING!
Shampoo Warning
I don't know WHY I didn't figure this out sooner!
I use shampoo in the shower!
When I wash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body, and
Printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning,
"FOR EXTRA VOLUME AND BODY."
No wonder I have been gaining weight!
Well! I have gotten rid of that shampoo, and I am going to start showering with Dawn dish soap instead.
Its label reads,
"DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE."
Problem solved!
If I don't answer the phone, I'll be in the shower!

Photo Dump
Let me warn you now that this post has no rhyme or reason. I finally downloaded a bunch of photos from my iPhone to my computer, and I thought I'd share some of the cuter ones.
Ok, this first one is my daddy. My aunt (his sister) sent it to my brother a few weeks ago. We figure it must be from his communion, making him about 7 or 8. My brother couldn't stop laughing at the sock/sandal combination. I told him to shut his damn mouth! This is from last week, I think. My brother sent it to me on my phone, just to rub in the fact that I wasn't at his house, playing with the baby, like my mother was. The jerk.
Ok, so my brother sends random photos to us all the time. They usually have a descriptive and/or humorous subject line. This one said, "Excited much?"
I took this one last week while I was spending a "sick" day with my baby. She was so damn cute with her babydoll.
The next couple were taken to send to Uncle CSJ. It was MY turn to rub it in that I got to be with that baby by MYself!
This one was from the next day, I think. Yeah, I DID take a second sick day. What about it?!
This was from last Thursday, also. Stud doesn't have school or work on Thursdays, so he spent the day with me soaking up lots of baby love! Not really sure when I took this one, but it was within the last 2 weeks.
My brother picked this up for her the other day. Go Cubbies!!
This was my thermometer yesterday when I came out of work. I picked up my middle niece (formally my BABY niece) at school and decided to treat her to her favorite thing - a Wendy's frosty!
Does she look a little happy!?This is from today. See that little green light glowing, indicating that my air-conditioning is going full blast?
Yeah, well, that's cuz THIS was my thermometer today!
It's MARCH 14!! IN CHICAGO!! WTF?!
This was from yesterday, which happened to be my baby's 8 month birthday. I sent her a birthday wish, via her daddy's phone. (Why the hell doesn't she have her own phone yet?!) In return, I received a "thank you, Auntie" message and this photo. I LOVE her shirt!
This was from today. In case you forgot, it was EIGHTY-FREAKIN'-THREE here in Chicago.
UGH! She's just too damn adorable!!!
Ok, that's all I'll bore you with today. There are lots more photos, so maybe I'll share some more later this week. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I'm trying...
...to embrace the fact that we're having an early spring. Last week, we hit the low 70s one day, and had a couple of days in the high 60s. This week coming up, they're predicting 3 days in the 70s. It's only the first week of March, people. In Chicago.
Ok, truthfully, I LOVED the day we had in the 70s last week, sun and all. Like I said in the post I wrote about it, I opened my sunroof wide, and soaked it all up. I could probably deal with that weather 300 days a year. I still need my couple of months of winter and snow, guys.
Stud is on spring break next week. I'm REALLY tempted to take a few days off to hang out with him. If they just happen to be days that are in the 70s, I guess I'll just have to suck it up and deal, right? ;-)
I really do like spring, though. Spring and fall are my two favorite seasons. I've said before, I'd love a year of 5 months of spring, 5 months of fall, and 2 months of winter. PERFECTION!
One of the things I love about spring is the watching all the gorgeous spring flowers bloom. I couldn't resist picking up these little cuties the other day while grocery shopping. Honestly, I picked them up for my mother-in-law, as we were going to visit her that evening, but then I forgot them at home. No, I did NOT do it on purpose, thank you very much! After a few days, I knew I wouldn't get them to her before they died, so I trimmed the hell out of them, found a cute little jar (repurposed candle jar) and voila! They've been making me smile all week.

Feeling generous?
My dear friend is running in the Chicago Marathon to raise money for Team to End AIDS. Click HERE to go to her page and make a donation, and support an awesome cause.
(If you look at the pictures on the bottom of the page, she's the adorable little one, with the short, dark hair, wearing the knee brace.)

Not one for the kiddies....
Ok, I know this is not new, and some of you may have already been highly offended by it. However, another Bloggy Buddy posted it today, which prompted me to share it here. It literally makes me laugh out loud every single time I listen to it. I love me some Samuel L. Jackson!!
Just a little side note - Yesterday, THIS was the temp here in ChiTown. It was sunny as hell AND 70, and yet, I didn't kill anyone. Truthfully, I loved it! I had a meeting yesterday (which = no work!) and drove there and back with the sunroof WIDE open! The only problem was the 60mph winds. But, hey, we ARE the Windy City, right? Get over it, people. The winds today are just as bad, but the sun isn't shining, and it's not as warm. I think it's only supposed to be in the high 50s today. We all know that's more my style. :) Oh, and I'm home again thanks to a wicked migraine that started last night. I knew there was no way I could deal with kids today. The older I get, the less I can tolerate. Well, there IS one little baby I just may be able to tolerate....hopefully I'll have some photos to share later. tee hee....

I have the sweetest Bloggy Buddies
My Bloggy Buddy, Ricochet, sent this to me today. The subject line of her email said, "This was written for you."
At the time that I checked my email, I had a Monkeys Marathon playing on the TV. I had also watched the Brady Bunch episode with Davy Jones and two episodes of Love American Style with him this morning. This just kinda pushed me over the edge, and actually made me cry. :(
Naturally, I have this book by Sandra Boynton, who is one of my favorite children's authors. I also have this song saved to a flash drive, as I would play it for my babies when we read the book. But, I had never seen this 'behind the scenes' video before. Thanks, again, Ricochet!!
